Overstock.com has purchased o.co for US$350,000
Overstock.com believes that the one character .co domain will act as an opportunity to expand their online presence and branding of the letter ‘o’.
This is a rather high .co domain sale in comparison to e.co which sold for $81,000, with all proceeds going to charity.
Over 200,000 .co domains have already been registered to date, since the launch on the 20th July 2010.
Overstock is trying to obtain any single letter ‘o’ domain. Overstock
already owns o.biz; and the shopping website on o.biz is brought to
consumers by Overstock.com.
O.co currently redirects to Overstock.com but it will eventually become an individual store powered by Overstock.com.
