ICANN has announced this week that COO (Chief Operating Officer) Doug Brent will leave ICANN at the end of July 2010; he has worked with the organization since January of 2007.
Doug is stepping down due to family reasons and has described the resignation as ‘difficult’. Doug and his family moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the ICANN headquarters, his family has decided the new location is not for them.
Doug’s blog post states “ICANN needs a full-time, Los Angeles-based
Chief Operating Officer, and recruiting for this role will begin almost
immediately.”
