Insure.com has recently sold for whopping US$16 million recently! This is a huge increase from 2001 when it was sold for $1.6 million. Involved in the US$16 million transaction is the domain name and the website itself.
The new owner of Insure.com is QuinStreet which is a popular marketing firm who will re-brand the domain with the new company name, Life Quotes. But, will a name change ensure that insure.com receives as high traffic as it did before?
QuinStreet also purchased Internet.com in August 2008 for US$18 million.
At the moment Insure.com is still being used under Insure.com. The page offers life insurance, car insurance, travel insurance, business insurance and many other forms of insurance along with insurance calculators and articles on different types of insurance. Insure.com is ranked at 54,102 in the world based on Alexa Traffic Rank, which is approximately 20,000 hits per day.
Due to the incredible price tag Insure.com has received vast media attention- maybe this is worth some of the US$16 million price tag…
