Folder Settings

To access the setting for a folder, click on the folder name or the Edit link for the folder.

Note: The (Default), (Brokered) and (ForSale) folder settings have limited options and the (Trash) folder can not be edited.

Auto Optimizer

Above.com Auto Optimizer is designed to maximize the revenues from your domains by identifying the best place to park each and every domain name. To use this feature, the Auto Optimizer must be enabled in the folder settings.

IMPORTANT!!! If you are using the Auto Optimizer feature, you MUST ensure that ALL domains you wish to manage have been added to all of your parking accounts. Also ensure that your supported parking services have been added to your Above.com account.

For Sale

The For Sale option allows you to direct traffic for domains in the folder to the For Sale page.

If you wish to use Maximizer as well, you can limit the maximum percentage of traffic sent to Maximizer and the remainder will go to the For Sale page.

See Maximizer section for more information.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that all domains in the folder are marked Yes for sale. If any domains in the folder are set as not for sale, potential buyers will only see a Domain not available for sale message.

Blank Page

The Blank Page option allows you to direct traffic to a blank page.

This can be used for any reason you need a blank page to be displayed.

Custom Settings

This option allows you to direct traffic to a specific parking service or set of parking services. You can use as many parking services as you have added and define what percentage of traffic should be directed to each.

IMPORTANT!!! Please update the Custom Settings for all folders that contain a parking service before disabling it. Not doing so is STRONGLY NOT ADVISED!

If you do not update the Custom Settings, one of follow actions will occur:

  1. If you have set multiple parking services for the folder, and some of them are not available due to being disabled or due to being blacklisted for the domain being served, we serve to the remaining services.

    Example:

    • SEDO: 20%
    • DomainSponsor: 30%
    • ParkingCrew: 50%

If you were to blacklist ParkingCrew for a domain in the folder or disabled ParkingCrew all together, the percentage for the remaining services would be changed in proportion.

    Example:

    • SEDO: 40%
    • DomainSponsor: 60%

  2. If there are no available services after removing blacklisted and disabled services, one of the following actions will occur:
    • If you have blacklisted this domain at all active services, a blank page will be served. This is because the blacklisting may be for legal reasons.
    • If the traffic was unable to be served due all configured parking services for that folder being disabled, an active parking service from your account is selected.
    • If there are no active parking services available in your account, we serve to our Above.com account.

There is no policy for returning Above.com account revenues to the domain owner and occurrences are handled on a case by case basis.

Other Settings

Maximizer

When Enabled, Above.com will utilize various strategies to maximize the performance of all domains in the folder. An example of these options include a Premium Direct to Advertiser Network and the Redirection of traffic from geographic regions typically not monetized by the parking services, such as Chinese Traffic.

If you wish to enable Maximizer and are also trying to sell your domains using the For Sale folder setting, you can limit the maximum percentage sent to Maximizer.

To limit Maximizer:

  • Set Folder Setting to "For Sale".
  • Enable Maximizer.
  • Click "Edit" button beside Maximizer option.
  • Select "Traffic to Maximizer limited to less than 50% - Lead Optimizer" from drop down menu.

By enabling this option, you authorize Above.com to employ such strategies to maximize the domain revenues.

Notes

  • The option to limit the maximum percentage of traffic sent to Maximizer is only available when the For Sale option is also selected.
  • Above.com will send up to 50% available to Maximizer and all other traffic will go to the For Sale page.
    • If Maximizer option is set to No Limit - Optimal for Revenue Generation, traffic not accepted by Maximizer will go to the For Sale page.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that all domains in the folder are marked Yes for sale. If any domains in the folder are set as not for sale, potential buyers will only see a Domain not available for sale message.

Folder Lock

When the folder lock option is set, domains can not be moved out of the folder. When locked, any domain move operation will fail or require a manual confirmation.

Show "Make Offer" Page

This option when enabled will show the "Make Offer" page for domains that only have a BIN price added.
