Transferring Domains
Transferring your domains to Above.com is a quick and easy process. Please note that you will need to add funds to your account or have your credit card details on file before you begin your domain transfer.
Important: All domains that are being transferred must be unlocked at the losing (current) registrar. You will also need to obtain an EPP Code or Authorization Code from the current registrar. If you are unsure how to unlock your domains or obtain EPP Codes, please contact the losing registrar for detailed instructions.
Transferring Domains In
Domains that support locking will incur a 60 day lock once transferred to Above.com. This is per ICANN policy and is aimed at preventing domain theft. When the 60 days has passed, the domain will be automatically changed to the client lock and then can be unlocked when needed.

Obtaining an EPP Code
The EPP Code or Authorization Code is unique for each domain name and is assigned by the registrar at the time the domain is registered. It is required when you would like to transfer the domain from one registrar to another. This code is used as a protection mechanism, to ensure that only the rightful domain owner can control the transfer of the domain registration. The gaining registrar will require the EPP Code when you initiate the transfer process.
To obtain an EPP Code:
- Click on the Manage Domains page in the Registrar section to view your domain details.
- Place a check mark beside the domain name for which you wish to obtain the EPP Code.
- Click the More button to the right of the table to view the available actions for the domain.
- On the resulting window, select the option for Request EPP Code on the left hand side and click the Submit button.
The EPP Code will be displayed on the resulting page. You will also receive an email containing the EPP Code. Please make a note of your code when you view it on the web page in the event that the email is not received.
